About ATF

The A.T.F. Task Force is a one-of-a-kind division within the Border Patrol. As an A.T.F. Agent, you’ll be on the front lines—dealing with individuals at their worst, those who will do anything to evade the law. Your mission is to stop the sale, creation, and transportation of illegal firearms, tobacco, alcohol, and explosives, while also upholding and enforcing all firearm regulations.

A.T.F. Agents are expected to remain vigilant, precise, and professional in every operation. This division plays a critical role in maintaining public safety and national security by dismantling illegal trafficking networks, shutting down black-market operations, and ensuring that all weapons and explosives are kept out of the wrong hands.

Joining the A.T.F. Task Force means taking on one of the most demanding and respected roles within the Border Patrol—where every decision counts, and every action helps protect our borders and our nation.
